Tess Daly’s ‘age-defying’ diet with four simple foods to stay looking young

Strictly Come Dancing host Tess Daly is looking better than ever at 56 and it’s all down to her diet and exercise regime, which includes eating four simple foods

Strictly Come Dancing’s Tess Daly is turning back the clock with her superfood diet and rigorous yoga routine. The cherished TV presenter and former model attributes her youthful appearance to a disciplined lifestyle, crammed with avocados, blueberries, nuts, and spinach.

A source revealed to Closer Magazine: “‘All of Tess’ treatments are in addition to going hardcore on her diet and exercise regime – loading up on all the foods proven to help reverse the ageing process like avocados, blueberries, nuts and spinach, as well as upping her yoga workouts to twice daily.”

Looking back on her modelling career, Tess – who presents Strictly alongside Claudia Winkleman – disclosed how she faced pressure about her looks: “I was told so many times, ‘you should look this way’, then I was told ‘you should put weight on’. That’s when I realised to take it with a pinch of salt.” Now flourishing in her 50s, Tess – previously labelled a ‘bird brain’ by a BBC colleague – is establishing her own beauty standards and rlies on a consistent skincare routine.

She confessed: “I believe in investing in my skin as I do in my general health, looking after what you have got. Over time, my skin felt more radiant, boosted and fresh.”

Among her beauty secrets is Ultratherapy, a non-invasive treatment that’s all about collagen and lifting the skin without surgery. The source revealed details about Tess Daly’s beauty regime ahead of her Strictly return, explaining that “Tess has her anti-ageing treatments regularly, especially in the lead-up to the new series of Strictly, which includes laser facials, micro needling and Ultratherapy, as well as Botox and veneers.”

Yet, while health experts recommend we drink plenty of water daily to maintain hydration, Tess has disclosed she must avoid it before her Strictly presenting duties.

Speaking to Elle magazine, the mother-of-two, who is wed to radio presenter Vernon Kay, explained she’s forbidden from touching a glass of water for two hours before cameras start rolling for the live Saturday evening programmes because she cannot take toilet breaks during recording. “I can’t drink any water for two hours before the show,” she explained. “As we are live, there is just not enough time to get to the loo.”

She also disclosed that the sole occasion she was permitted to break this rule was during her pregnancies with daughters, Phoebe and Amber, saying: “Oh no, that wouldn’t have been possible. I was allowed to go then!”
