Diet Cherry Coke had about a week in the limelight before another discontinued flavor of the popular soda began threatening to steal its thunder.

While eyes are still not off the returning favorite confirmed to be making a limited return this summer, fans are certain this won’t be the last we see of such a nostalgic flavor. The latest reports even suggest Diet Coke Lime will be coming back in just a few short months.

Parade has it on good word that the once-popular variety will be making a limited return later this year, with a “retro” look just like the 2025 edition of Diet Cherry Coke.

Food blogger SodaSeekers–who accurately predicted new limited-edition Sprite, the “bold” new limited-edition Fanta flavor, as well as the summer 2025 return of Mountain Dew Infinite Swirl–recently reported on the potential return, claiming Diet Coke Lime would follow the comeback of the stonefruit-flavored favorite and be released in the fall.

A Coca-Cola spokesperson did not immediately respond to Parade’s request for comment.

Though none of that has been corroborated by the brand, fans aren’t waiting on official confirmation to get excited, with one calling the development “awesome” and admitting they’ve “been putting true lime in Diet Coke” to make their own DIY version.

“[I don’t think] I have ever been happier with a soda release,” a second shared.

“I’ve been BEGGING for this to make a return for years😍,” a third exclaimed.

“I have so many things to be thankful for,” a different fan joked, “and this might be the biggest.”

One more lamented, “OH PLEASE come to Canada as well :3 I love Diet Coke Lime.”

Whether or not the Diet Coke Lime will be a retailer exclusive (like Diet Cherry Coke with Kroger) is currently unclear, though SodaSeekers reports it will be available on or around October 6, wherever other Coke products are sold.
